Mikey is a radio presenter, producer and commentator turned University lecturer and Communications professional, with nearly 20 years experience in the journalism and media industries.

He was the host of numerous programmes on the now closed Sky Sports News Radio, also producing and presenting the stations coverage of major boxing events including Froch v Kessler II and both contests between Carl Froch and George Groves, including reporting ringside at Wembley stadium.

Mikey’s Sports Centre programme was the first on the station to be presented on location, at events as diverse as the Football League play offs, major nights in the League Cup, the opening night of the Super League season and the first day of the Ashes cricket live from Trent Bridge.

During his time with Sky Sports, Mikey also worked as a featured interviewer for the FL72 Show on TV and his Football League Hour was converted into the first Sky Sports FL72 Podcast series, Mikey also guest hosted the Sky Sports Champions League podcast.

Alongside this work Mikey has been a football commentator on local and national radio, most prominently as the voice of Wolverhampton Wanderers for over a decade, but also as part of the Goalzone programme on Free Radio and Absolute Radio’s Rock and Roll Football. 

As a broadcast journalist he has been part of a Sony Gold win for Station of the Year, a Sony nomination for Best Breaking News Coverage 2012 and twice nominated for a Midlands Media Award for his work online.

He has also been heard as a voiceover artist for The Sun Goals video projects and as a sports newsreader on the Breakfast programmes for BBC WM, BBC Radio Leicester and BBC Coventry and Warwickshire as well as hosting regular programmes.

Currently hosting Wolves Weekly, the club’s official podcast, Mikey has previously worked on internal podcast series for the British Olympic Association and UK Swimming.

Now teaching ‘Commentary & Punditry’ at the University of Derby, Mikey also looks after the communications needs of 5 schools within Broadleaf Partnership Trust.
